About the Girl
I am Rosemary, a 19-year old Chinese American girl living in Pennsylvania. Yes, there are girls on the internet. No, I am not really a 40-year old balding truck driver. I attend The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and will be a sophomore this coming semester. Officially, I have no major, but unofficially I’m double majoring in Art Studio and English. And if anyone is wondering, I do plan on living in a box when I grow up. Okay, maybe a nice, shiny box.
To explain a bit more about me, I’m considered by many people in real life very “cheery” and “smiley”. If I’m angry, upset, sad or whatnot, I try not to show it on my face. After all, making people who don’t understand the situation angry/sad/upset with you just brings down the whole mood in general and makes it hard to cheer up again and also causes a lot of misunderstandings. I do, however, get defensive against people who wrong my friends. I’m protective like that. Ranting online with my friends on Ventrilo is very fun though. I’m also very laidback, and I try to take things easily when I can. Due to that, I can be a huge procrastinator in some areas (such as school), a habit which I’m trying to fix…slowly.
I am also pretty responsible, especially when trying to help one of my closest online friends, Miri keep her large singing organization under control behind-the-scenes along with other responsible members. I may seem bossy and bitchy at times, but to be honest, sometimes someone’s got to be the bad guy in order to get things done. And I’m willing to be the bitchy tyrant if it means getting things done before the deadline and not a year after the deadline. Sometimes I mess up, but hey, I’m human, or at least I’d like to think I am.
In terms of interests and hobbies, I enjoy singing, drawing, writing, reading, gaming, web designing, and more. There are countless things that I do, ranging from fiddling in Adobe Photoshop to playing Kingdom of Loathing to chatting on MSN Messenger with friends late into the night. I love doing karaoke on Ventrilo with my friends, and I also love to record my singing and try to make it sound all spiffy using Audacity and Adobe Audition (granted, the singing is still subpar, but let’s disregard that).
I can be heard squealing with delight often when groups under Hello!Project release new singles. Same goes for any new AKB48 releases, due to great influence from my very good friends Umi and Solaire. I also love any new Japanese artist that I discover when reading music weblogs. When I’m not squealing about Japanese music in general, I can be found knee deep in manga and anime (figuratively speaking).
I am currently living the single life. And no, I’m not interested in online dating.
While there are many things towards which I am slightly apathetic (such as religion and politics), it does not mean I am completely disinterested with other people’s views on said subjects. It just means that I just don’t give enough of a damn to formulate over-the-top heated opinions about said subjects (which is different from indecisiveness, before anyone points that out). I do have opinions, though, and you may feel free to disagree with them as you wish.
